Alex Thomson's solo campaign for the 2004/5 Vendée Globe supported by Hugo Boss
Bowtech Products are pleased to announce that they recently delivered 4 underwater “Divecams” to one of the British sailing boats in the recently started Véndee Globe solo round the world race.

Two of cameras on mounted on the mast looking down and one camera on the bow looking aft along the deck and one camera on the stern looking into the cockpit. The images are recorded on board and sent via satellite to Alex Thomson’s base in Hampshire where they will be soon seen live on his website www.alexthomsonracing.com
Alex Thomson chose underwater cameras because of the extreme and harsh environment they will be operating within within . The mounting brackets for the cameras have been designed to with stand 50g.
At the time of this press release being written Bowtech are delighted to announce that Alex and his Boat Hugo Boss are in 6th place from the twenty started.
The Bowtech BP-DIVECAM, miniature high resolution colour CCD camera provides an low cost solution to shallow underwater viewing and observation down to 75m.
The cameras are manufactured with a high quality hard anodised Aluminium housing. The camera is fitted with a fixed focus, wide angle lens, giving a diagonal field of view of 65 degrees in water through a acrylic window.
The miniature high quality SONY 1/3" CCD sensor offers high resolution and low light level sensitivity. It is the ideal camera for inshore viewing tasks
