The D-70 is an up-to-date tube TV camera, which enables perfect radiation tolerance of 50 MRad. The camera is fitted with a Chalnicon camera tube, which combines high sensitivity with increased radiation and temperature tolerance (Diakont patent RU2145454).
Unlike traditional nuclear engineering bi-unit TV cameras (where a part of the camera electronics is located in the remote camera controller), the D-70 components are all radiation tolerant. A true single unit design (power in/video out) makes using the D70, in CCTV systems, very convenient, increasing operational reliability - as no high voltage signals are transmitted via the camera cable.
All D-70 cameras are equipped with a non-browning lens, which withstands the integral irradiation dose of 2x10 8 Rad, without decreasing its optical performance.
